TILE Lab Open Creativity

By: Miguel Almena, Maranatha High School TILE Lab Coordinator
The Technology Integration Learning Environment (TILE) Lab welcomes you back to another school year!
We are very excited for what God has for us all this year and we are thrilled to announce our new iMac Lab refresh! Inspired by the best of Apple. Transformed by the M1 chip. With this new upgrade, our students are able to work efficiently and produce best-in-class projects in record time. Stop by and visit the TILE Lab for more details.

The lab welcomes our newest intern cohort: Jillian Geib ’23, Shania Camaja ’23, Kiley Callahan ’23 and Andy Romero-Doss ’23. Jillian is our lead intern and part of the first graduating CADE class in 2022. Kiley is our head of marketing. Shania is head of branding and visual communications and vice president to our upcoming Women’s Robotics Club. Andy is chief 3D Printer and Operations Officer. Plus, we welcome our honorary interns Shaurya Bhartia ’25, Matt Yip ’25, and Max Amendolara ’23 to the TILE Lab Team!

Honorary Intern and Head Researcher, Max Amendolara, is also our new student ambassador for the Virtual Reality Learning Environments Initiative. Max will be searching for applications to advance student training skills in the area of 3D modeling, architectural design, and sports training simulation. Arkio is just one of the many applications where students can imagine and build virtual environments along with architectural designs using only their bare hands. He is also testing various software applicable to sports virtual training, which allows athletes to leverage practice time and visual acuity from the comfort of their own home.

Club Rush returns on September 20th! The TILE Lab is excited to announce that Women’s Robotics is coming back stronger for another year. The vision for the Women’s Robotics Club is to inspire women to join the STEM fields and live out their God-given callings. Our plan is to invite mentors onto campus to train and share their career paths for our amazing students that wish to pursue careers in computer aided design, engineering, computer science, and robotics.
