With so many events and activities on the school calendar this Spring, there are numerous opportunities for parents to get involved and also earn Parent Service Program (PSP) hours, some even this week!
Right now, there are multiple needs listed on Maranatha’s SignUp Genius page. CLICK HERE to view the current list, and check back often to see how you can help by volunteering your time or donating items needed for an event. Not only is this a great way to ‘plug in’ to the things happening on campus, but your support is always greatly appreciated. In addition, you’ll earn PSP hours!
Here are a few of the most urgent needs. Please consider signing up to help out!
Athletic Events Volunteers (needed March 18 and 19): Several volunteers are needed to assist with our home games this Thursday at 2:00 p.m. and Friday at 6:00 p.m. Since only parents of the players are permitted as spectators at the games, we need other parents to assist with gate access, security, concessions, etc. If you are able to help, please sign up on our SignUp Genius post HERE. As more home games are scheduled, additional volunteer opportunities will be posted.
Uniform Laundering (needed by March 19): We need parents to wash used uniforms. A total of 5 parents are needed to each wash and dry 1 bag of used uniforms and bring them back, folded and in bags, to Mrs. Jones at the Student Center front desk. Volunteers will earn 3 PSP hours per bag. Please sign up online HERE, then pick up your bag from the front desk in the Student Center during normal school hours and return it by Friday, March 19.
Welcome Back Rally (needed March 22 and 25): Many parent volunteers are needed for the Back to School Welcome Rally on Monday, March 22, and Thursday, March 25, from 7:15-8:15 a.m. The Parent Association is organizing a celebratory “Welcome Back” for students that will include music, balloons, banners, treats, and YOU! We want to make the first day back on campus for our students exciting and festive, and we need you to help cheer on our students as they arrive back at school. Please arrive in the upper parking lot at 7:15 a.m. sharp with a homemade “Welcome Back” poster. Two volunteer hours will be given for each parent who participates: 1 for the homemade poster board and 1 for your time. Sign up on online HERE.
Drive-In Movie Event (needed March 25, 26, and 27): Maranatha Performing Arts’ musical production of “Bye Bye Birdie” is being filmed and will debut as a drive-in movie event with just 3 performances here on campus. But it takes about 10 volunteers each night to check-in ticket holders, direct traffic, and sell concessions. The Friends of Maranatha Arts is seeking 30 parent volunteers to help from 6:45-10:00 p.m. on March 25-27 and also needs donations of snack items. Food Drive (March 25 and 26): We need another 4 volunteers to help receive donations at the drive-through drop-off in the visitor parking lot between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 25, or Friday, March 26. Please sign up on the SignUp Genius post HERE.
Chairpersons for Used Uniform Sale: The PA is looking for 2-3 parents to chair the Used Uniform Sales for the 2021-2022 school year. Responsibilities include managing a team of volunteers to collect and wash used uniforms, as well as oversee two Used Uniform Sales during the year - one in the summer and the second at the Back to School Family BBQ. This is a really fun way to get all of your volunteer hours for the year (20 PSP hours are given to chairpersons). Please email email@example.com if interested.
