Two Maranatha Students Win The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards

Congratulations to Leo Osses ‘19 and Marian Seo ‘20 for being recognized in The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards!
Earlier this month, senior Leo Osses walked away with multiple awards in The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, the nation’s longest-running and most prestigious recognition program for creative high school students. Leo Osses won the prestigious Gold Keys Award, which is the highest initial award that will automatically enter him into consideration for college scholarships, for his work on “A Fiery Night” and “Marsh Flies in the Night. Leo also won the Silver Keys Award for “Kyoko City by Day” and “Little Red,” as well as Honorable Mentions for “A Drip of Color”, “Kyoko City by Night,” and “Symphony in the Night.”

Also recognized in The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards is junior Marian Seo who won Honorable Mention for her work on “Dreamy, Creamy Coffee.”

Maranatha’s Visual Arts faculty Diane Barnhart encourages more students to enter next year. There is a $5 entry fee but it's well worth it! If you have any questions and are interested in competing for The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards next year, please contact Diane at d_barnhart@mhs-hs.org.
