On Saturday, February 2, the Maranatha High School Speech Team competed in the Annual Southern California Debate League Varsity Speech Tournament at Arcadia High School.

Maranatha’s Speech and Debate Advisor, Pat Mesisca ‘92, said, “It was a very moving speech that brought to light a sensitive issue with excellent use of humor and facts to defend her position that everyone is better off when we love and support one another as we run the races of life together.”
The Speech and Debate Team is currently preparing for the California State Qualifying Tournaments coming in March and The Rotary Four-Way Test Speech Contest that will be held at the Pasadena Presbyterian Church on Wednesday and Thursday, February 27-28 at 6:00 p.m.
