MHS PARENT ASSOCIATION

2016-2017

The Maranatha High School Parent Association is a great place to get involved. As a parent of a student at Maranatha, you are automatically a part of the Parent Association (PA). It is a fun and diverse group of people committed to supporting the many activities that make Maranatha a lively community. All Parents are invited to attend Parent Association (PA) meetings, coffees, and events. Come join us! Get involved! PA meetings and gatherings provide opportunities for parents to get acquainted, stay informed about what is going on at the school, and listen to guest speakers from our faculty and administration. 

Please Join Us….. All parents are welcome! Parent Association Meetings are held at 8:00 a.m. in the 3rd Floor Commons in the Academic Center (coffee served), with the exception of the October and February meetings which will be held at 6:30 p.m. 3rd Floor Commons in the Academic Center.  The schedule for the year is as follows:

The Parent Association (PA) provides support for Maranatha High School in 4 distinct ways:

Community Building

  • The PA strives to build community amidst its parent body.  In addition to the monthly PA meetings and coffees, we have several Community Coffees and a freshman mentor group to incorporate new families into our Maranatha Community.

Prayer & Care Ministries

  • Care and meal ministry for our MHS community.
  • Weekly prayer opportunities: On Campus and Prayer Walks!
  • Partners in Prayer: Support for every student, faculty and staff member of MHS.

Administration of the Parent SERVICE Program (PSP)

  • The PSP program is designed to encourage a spirit of community in which each school family actively participates and supports the life and development of Maranatha High School. You will earn 1 PSP hour for each PA meeting you attend!
  • Each family is required to serve a minimum of 20 hours of service or pay a $500 fee. If your family has not fulfilled the required 20 parent service hours and returned the completed coupon book by March 15, 2017, a $500 fee will be assessed on the April 2017 statement as a reminder to get hours fulfilled. Completed PSP coupon books are due by May 26, 2017; otherwise the fee will be assessed.

FundraisERS

  • The Parent Association raises money to support the needs and wishes of teachers and staff at Maranatha for items such as SMART Boards and Mobile Computer Labs. There are a couple PA Fundraisers you can support: The Used Uniform Sale and Scrip. Please support PA fundraisers!
