Giving FAQs



A: The Maranatha Annual Giving program provides valuable resources that help to replenish our budget in all areas that affect the school's many important programs. We raise funds to cover the costs for tuition assistance, scholarships, missions trips, the upkeep of the school's beautiful grounds, and property maintenance. It also provides funding extra-curriculars, clubs, and opportunities to bring special programs to campus.


A: Each year, every Maranatha family is encouraged to participate in the school's annual giving campaign. Increased parent participation in annual giving has a significant impact on the school. As parent participation in the annual giving increases, foundations and other financial institutions take note. This opens opportunities for additional funding from these institutions. It also shows solidarity among our school community members.

Q: How often will I be contacted to donate to the school?

A: The Advancement Office has three appeals during the school year which are sent to parents, grandparents, alumni, and parents of alumni. These appeals occur during the beginning of the schoool year, the end of the calendar year, and the spring. Parents who make a gift commitment to one of our fund categories will generally not be asked for additional gifts throughout the year. Of course, donor initiated gifts are always welcomed and appreciated. All families will receive Advancement mailings from time to time to update our community on the status of Advancement efforts or new initiatives. 

Q: May I restrict my gifts to a particular area of the school?

A: Absolutely! Gifts to the Maranatha Opportunity Fund are restricted for tuition assistance. However, you may also elect to give a restricted gift to a specific area that is close to your heart. 

Q: Can I match my gifts?

A: Many donors are surprised to learn that their employers can match charitable gifts that they make to Maranatha. In doing so, not only do these donors receive credit for their actual gift, but they also receive associated credit for the corporate matching gift that they have helped Maranatha secure. Matching gifts are a wonderful way to support Maranatha at no expense to our families.

Q: Are there plans to expand the school’s facilities or renovate existing buildings?

A: The school’s strategic plan drives the school’s master planning process, and together both initiatives dictate future capital efforts needed for our students on this campus. There is no capital campaign at the school at this time.

Q: Besides parent support, how else is Maranatha funding its operational expenses?

A: Maranatha is actively seeking financial support from alumni, parents of alumni, grandparents, corporations and friends, as well as from local foundations. Our entire Maranatha community is needed to help Maranatha succeed. Maranatha also partners with other organizations who rent our facilities, such as Pepperdine University's Graziadio School of Business and Management, Kids Klub, and the Tournament of Roses.
