PERFORMING ARTS 2016-2017 SEASON

Eurydice   October 14, 2016 • 7:00 p.m.
October 15, 2016 • 7:00 p.m.
    Maranatha Student Center

In Eurydice, Sarah Ruhl reimagines the classic myth of Orpheus through the eyes of its heroine. Dying too young on her wedding day, Eurydice must journey to the underworld, where she reunites with her father and struggles to remember her lost love. Her journey is ours. For we too seem to forget our identity in this dark, fallen world. It is only through the incarnate grace of our Heavenly Father that we come to remember our first love.

Unchanging Heart   December 9, 2016 • 7:00 p.m.
December 10, 2016 • 7:00 p.m.
Evening of Christmas   Ambassador Auditorium

Join Choir, Orchestra, and Dance Company as we trace the musical story of Christmas through the ages. From early chant to modern worship, we will find that, even though musical style may change, the heart of the child in the manger beats the same.

Zombie Prom   March 9, 2017 • 7:00 p.m.
March 10, 2017 • 7:00 p.m.
March 11, 2017 • 2:00 and 7:00 p.m.
    Ambassador Auditorium

Come join us as we follow the music of Christmas through its many years, styles, and personalities. We will journey from the early ages of chant, experience the aristocracy of the baroque and classical periods, sing Victorian carols, romp through the Jazz age, and arrive at the Holiday of today. And while we will see that this season has taken many shapes, we will also encounter its unchanging heart; the heart of Jesus Christ.

Performing Arts Showcase   Ambassador Auditorium

Join the MHS Performing Arts Department this Spring as we bring the wonder and joy of childhood stories to the Ambassador stage. Stories come in many forms and provide a unique connection to memories, personal/spiritual growth, and remind us what it looks like to live without fear and doubt. With the creative collaboration of dance, choir, and orchestra, this show will take you on a journey that you won't want to miss!
